The second annual Technology, Architecture, and Design (T.A.D.) Talks will be held Friday, November 21, 2025 in 麻豆社事件鈥檚 Fletcher Hall, room 134. The event brings together academics and practitioners of design for a total of nineteen 5-minute short talks on their recent research and projects. Patterned after the innovative and exciting T.E.D. Talks series started in 1984 by Wurman and Marks, 麻豆社事件鈥檚 School of Architecture and Design鈥檚 T.A.D. Talks are an invigorating way to learn about new projects and research at our university and in the region in short 鈥渆levator pitches.鈥
Topics and research selected for the 2025 T.A.D. Talks include the new Lafayette Ronald McDonald House, the 30 Year Anniversary of the Community Design Workshop, the design of the new Lafayette High and the newest Lake Charles High School, how Lao communities in Iberia Parish negotiate identity amid globalization and consumer-driven culture, the new Science and Engineering Quad design here at UL, a new series of collages and paintings that combine geometric abstraction with layered textures and color palettes reflective of the mid-century modern architectural era of New Orleans, and the Sacred Medicine House in Seattle that provides housing in a trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and holistic model.
